Mother's Day & a Beautiful Sunset on Polihale Beach--Day 4

Back on day 2, there was a delivery.  Elizabeth signed for the package and when she came inside, I said, "you got flowers!".  Elizabeth said, "it's for you!"  What a nice surprise!  The kids at home sent me flowers in Kauai, and Elizabeth and I both got to enjoy Mother's Day flowers.  Sarah said that she picked the square vase because she thought Elizabeth would like it.  She knew I would not want to pack the vase home.

On Mother's Day, we went to church and Dave spoke in Sacrament meeting.  He gave a great talk on the mother's of the 2,000 stripling warriors from the Book of Mormon.  Evelyn stayed with me during Sunday School, and didn't even peep.  We got to Relief Society and she saw Elizabeth--who was giving the lesson that day--and was too noisy during the lesson, so I took her to Dave.  The ward treated the mom's, and everyone else, to pie after church.

After church, we went back home and had lunch, Evelyn had a nap, and had a Skype call with Katie.  Elizabeth made a delicious white chili and we packed up Dave's 4x4 truck this time to head up to Polihale beach.  This beach is the last beach as you drive up the west side of the island.  It is completely on the other side of the cliffs from where we were the day before.  Dave warmed up the chili in the dutch oven and had a nice meal before the sunset.  It was a beautiful, relaxing
Mother's Day.

End of the beach--Palihale

As we sat on the beach, we watched a couple of cars get towed out of the sand as it is a beach where they park on the beach.  Well, guess what, we ended up being towed out of the sand as well.  We got far enough down in the sand to reach the running board.  A very nice guy with a jeep came to the rescue.  We were grateful that he was there!
