Comfort from the Gospel

**I had originally posted this on Feb. 12, however, since I am new to this blogging thing, I accidently deleted it. I am reposting it.

Today has been an interesting day of deep thoughts. There were two occurrences today that has made me think of how grateful I am for my knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

First, there was an accident on the luge run of an athlete from the Republic of Georgia. He was practicing for the Winter Olympics of 2010 in Vancouver, Canada. He later died of his injuries. Second, the funerals for the two Romanian missionaries who died on Jan. 30 were held today. One in Utah and
the other in Nevada.

How sad I felt that the Olympics would start on such a sad note with the loss of a great athlete. For the greatly anticipated event to be held the next couple of weeks, there was a n
ote of heavy heart. A young man who worked and practiced to be good enough to enter the Olympics, life was too short. My hope is that when he was "ejected" by his sled on the run, that his pain was not long. For the two missionaries, they died in their sleep from carbon monoxide poisoning and didn't wake to any pain.

I hope and pray for the families of these three young men. I pray that each will be honored in a deserving way. How lucky I feel to have the knowledge of eternal life and the resurrection. I know that Jesus Christ died for all of us so that we might live again.
