The Secret Is Out!

So I have official word from Dave and Elizabeth that I can tell anyone and everyone that they are going to have a baby in May! I am so excited for them. They will be great parents! I'm glad that I can say something about the baby now. It has been difficult to keep this under-wraps!

They had a darling way to announce the baby. Here is the link to their blog: http://typethatdown.blogspot.com/.

I am looking forward to being a grandma. It sounds like Scott and I are getting old. . . . Well, we are. However, we're not THAT old!

Photos at the Temple

Elizabeth and Dave's wedding day was great fun! After the sealing in the temple, we all went out to take pictures in front of the temple. There was a good size group of us and so we started out by gathering the largest group together first.

Elizabeth's BYU Graduation!

Yay! We attended Elizabeth's graduation from BYU last week and it was a wonderful opportunity for us to share this special moment with her. Elizabeth has been dedicated to her Nursing studies and was rewarded by graduating with honors; Phi Kappa Phi, Cum laude. The general graduation ceremony was held on April 22 in the Marriott Center. There were 6,100+ students graduating. The keynote speaker was Elder Christofferson. We are proud of her and her accomplishments!

No time like the present!

I set up this blog so many months ago. However, I never have done anything else to it! Maybe because I wasn't sure if I understood how to proceed. Any way, no time like the present to get started.

My daughter, Elizabeth, got engaged about a month ago and it blows my mind that she is old enough to get married! Actually, child #5, Katie, had her 18th birthday last Friday. Is it possible that I have five adult children now? No way! I'm not that old, really?

Any way, the wedding plans are moving forward and some things are starting to fall into place. We have a place to hold a reception, wedding dress, photographers, florist, caterer, musicians, as well as a few other little details working themselves out. It will be a beautiful day no matter what all these "things" are. The most important part of the
day is the sealing in the Oakland LDS temple of Elizabeth Wheelwright and David Whitaker. I am excited that Elizabeth has found a companion that she wants to spend eternity with.
