Dave was in on the planning, but he has a difficult time keeping secrets from Elizabeth, so this was not an easy task. Finally, we brought Dave's mom into the planning. Becky asked Elizabeth to help with a surprise graduation party. Elizabeth was told that since Becky could not be there, she wanted to plan a party. Everything had been taken care of, and her job was to get Dave to the party. So, Elizabeth wasn't suspicious about anything. Everything was going great! Megan and I had a scheduled plan and didn't think we would have any detours. Well, Elizabeth had her own schedule in mind.
The evening of the shower, I took Katie, Jonathan, Dave and Elizabeth out to dinner to a favorite place--Texas Roadhouse. It was there that I realized I was not going to get away early from dinner to help set out the food, etc. I excused myself to the bathroom and there made a call to Megan that lasted about 15 minutes. I needed to give Megan instructions on what I had planned for set up. It was a good thing that we had made up most of the refreshments that afternoon. As we got to the home of the "party", we all went downstairs to a "surprise"! Surprise to Elizabeth! She said to Dave, "it's for you", and Dave then said, "no, it's for you!". Reality set in and Elizabeth caught on that the party was for her!
A delicious food spread!
Sarah made fondant covered sugar cookies in the shape of baby bottles,
and onesies!
Sarah made the cakes from her bakery at home in Calif. They were very tasty! We packed them very carefully in a cooler for the ride back.
Pink Converse shoes made from something sugar,
The baby bottle was made out of chocolate!
A happy mom-to-be! After the shock of surprise, we all had a wonderful time!
